Something Different part III

After I composed the sketch I printed it out on regular printer paper and used a brush pen to trace it onto another sheet of paper.

I scanned the new brush drawing and changed the color digitally to something similar to what i would paint with when I first start out a painting.

The few patches of fur I traced on a different sheet as well.

I realize that I could try a lot of creative new looks right now but first I want to see if I am able to reproduce  something similar to one of my paintings. After I complete this then I will get more creative with this technique.

Here is a simple sketch I will use to try and create this new illustration.

Something Different

I am going to try and do something different while i have so much free time. I want to try and create an illustration that is mostly composed digitally. Although I can finish a painting rather quickly, It can be difficult for me to scan them because of their size. My goal is to create an illustration with the same feel as my paintings but on a smaller scale and mostly digital.

I figured a good way to start would be to paint a small canvas as a texture that can be easily scanned.

my next step will be to start sketches for the illustration.
